On Monday, October 7, 2019, Oakwood University hosted the regional Alabama Connection Graduate School Expo on its campus in the Millet Activity Center from 10:00 am- 1:00 pm.  The co-sponsoring institutions were Alabama A&M University and the University of Alabama at Huntsville.  This is “Hands down, one of the best events for any student planning to attend graduate or professional school,” remarked OU site coordinator Verneice Wright. This Graduate and Professional School Expo offers students the opportunity to visit with institutional representatives from over sixty colleges and universities allowing attendees to find the school that matches their academic goals in one location. There were 74 graduate/professional programs represented and over 250 students attended.
As part of the state-wide network of institutions hosting the annual expos Oakwood’s campus is slated to host the event on a three-year rotation shared with its local partners. During the week of the North Alabama regional expo, expos are hosted at locations throughout the state; Livingston, Birmingham, Auburn, Montgomery and Mobile. To learn about future expos visit the Alabama Connection website.
