Diversity Education Exchange Program Retreat

The annual D.E.E.P. Retreat was held March 22-24, 2019, in Florence, Alabama. The theme was “SDA Faith in the Marketplace: Living Faithfully in a Changing World.”
Students from Oakwood University (OU) and Southern Adventist University (SAU) led in worship, and enjoyed a weekend of sharing and fellowship.Guest speaker, Wayne Blakely, shared his testimony of how he came to value Jesus over sexuality, after living in the LGBT+ culture for 40 years, and then encountered Jesus and submitted to God’s will for his life.
OU Provost Dr. Colwick Wilson and SU President Dr. David Smith offered words of encouragement and support for student leaders in the closing program. Both administrators and students departed with a renewed commitment to living a life unapologetically Christian and pleasing to God in the marketplace.
